Carnival Legend Elevators - Chapter 3

Welcome again to the interior of the Carnival Legend cruise ship.  This chapter focuses on the main lobby and the elevators.  This is certainly one of the more unique lobbies you will ever find, and that made a perfect opportunity to take some fun HDR photos as seen below.

This is a shot of the main lobby with the three consecutive elevators that bring passengers to their rooms.

Vertical Shot of Lobby

Looking up is a marvelous scene with layers of textures, lights, and details--perfect for HDR photography.

Under the Elevators

Here's another shot looking up underneath the elevators.

Looking Up in Lobby

This is from the opposite side.  See the two blobs on top of the curved "U" on top?  Those are actually stairs, and the blobs are people ;-) I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I thought I'd show you both.

Intriguing Elevator HDR

I love the way the curved glass of the elevators accentuates the reflections of the interior.  This is an image you can stare at and find infinite details.  This image would not be possible without HDR.

Closer look at Elevator

Here's a closer look at the elevators.

Multiple Elevators on Cruise Ship

I wanted to get these elevators to form perfect symmetry, but I was tired of waiting so here's the best one I could come up with.  These elevators were in constant motion.

Iniside an Elevator HDR

Make sure to click on this image.  Ever see "Independence Day" with Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum?  This reminds me of the scene where they fly the alien spaceship back to the mothership so they can nuke it.  It's like looking out the window of a spaceship into a docking station.  Wow, I'm a nerd...sorry for the rant.  I tried looking for the clip so I could prove that my comparison is on point, but I couldn't find it.  I really liked the way this turned out..really puts you in the elevator riding up to the top.

Elevator from Top

Yep, the elevator again.  This shot taken near the top.

Looking Down to Ship Lobby

Here's a wide shot taken while looking down from the top level.  Hope you don't hate heights!

Another Angle Downward

Here's another photo which captures the huge art mural.  They really need to get a Franklin Arts image in there!

People in Elevator

"Hello there!  Never mind me, Miss.  I'm just taking a picture of you for no particular reason."  I was captivated by this scene.  We put an awful lot of faith in whoever made these elevators.  That's a long ways down.  Kind of eerie.
